North Africa. Surrounded by juniper forests and alpine meadows, Mount Toubkal is the central attraction
of the Toubkal National Park, an area noted for its summer hiking.
From September 7 to 17, 2011, One World Trekking (http://www.oneworldtrekking.com), a 22 year leader in organizing and guiding hiking adventure travel vacations, has confirmed its Moroccan group trip beginning in the colorful capital of Marrakech. Departing from the Pink City the OWT group will be whisked away into the glorious hills of the High Atlas, before hiking into the valleys that surround Mount Toubkal.
Expect some strenuous walking before arriving at the Refuge and enjoy the swapping of trekkers' tales while lounging in the late afternoon sun. The summit day is always an early start and as the group reaches the well known summit at 13,665 feet, they are treated to the vast expanse of the Sahara to the South and the Marrakech plain to the North.
The One World Trekking group will stay in a combination of hotels, mountain refuges and tented camping sites. This is a fully-guided and fully-supported hiking trip, so each member of the group will only need to carry a daypack with packed lunch, water, extra clothes, camera, while all the equipment and meal preparation is organized by our experienced Moroccan staff.
This is a short trip in the land of the Berber people that is not to be missed. For more information you can contact One World Trekking or visit their website http://oneworldtrekking.com/destinations/worldwide-trekking/221-morocco-across-the-high-atlas.html
