Open Question: Fishing and Camping locations in Colorado?

My friend and I are located near Denver, CO. We are trying to take a trip, within the state, for some camping and fishing. We would like to have a campsite with a fire pit, close to a lake good or great for trout fishing.

We had planned to go to Grand Lake near Estes Park, but the forecast doesnt look the greatest, it actually snowed a little today. We are trying to get a little sun, warmth, and beer drinking and fish catching place, preferably not to close to town/city goings on. I hope that isnt too rare around here....

If anyone has any ideas, it would be so awesome. I am pretty new to the area, just moved here about a year ago. I do appreciate any input you might have, Thanks, Tim
